Ministry Description

This ministry meets the last Friday of the month in the Parish Narthex (see church bulletin for details). The Silver Angels mission is threefold to socialize, enhance spirituality and to serve our Lord and parish community.

We find a joy and life long friendships in a loving community of Christ centered outreach for people in need by making prayer blankets that are blessed by Fr. Kevin for the sick as well as saying our prayer blanket prayer at our meetings as well as by ourselves sending cards to fellow retired people as well as parishioners, reading warriors for St. Maria Goretti children. Taking communion to nursing homes and the homebound, taking food for those in need and also funeral dinners.

At our meetings we share stories of our families, holiday traditions, saints we admire, our own spiritual reflections, support for each other in time of need. Our retired people are excited to find a home for themselves in our beautiful faith filled community. We are committed to praying for the sick and their comfort daily.

Once a month we have a speaker of interest come join us. We have coffee and donuts and laughter and enjoy conversations with each other. Every year we have a Christmas party as well as a picnic in the summer. We also attend free dress rehearsals by the civic theatre at Tarkington in Carmel as well as free movies once a month at the local movie house.
