St. Maria Goretti seeks candidates for its full-time Coordinator of Children’s Faith Formation position. This role directs an array of religious education programs for children and families. Some of the exciting areas this position leads or engages with include: our Parish Religious Education ministry for Pre-K through Grade 8; Sacrament Preparation for 2nd graders in collaboration with SMG School Teachers; youth ministries for Grades 3-4 (Sparks) and Grades 5-6 (Ignite); involvement with Rite of Christian Initiation for Children and older-child sacrament preparation. Essential Duties:
Coordinate and direct an array of religious education programs; make recommendations and offer alternate solutions to youth faith programs or ministries as Pastor deems necessary
Direct and resource programs of religious education and faith formation for children, including Parish Religious Education special events and PRE Reconciliation opportunities (Grades 3-8)
Promote spirituality, prayer, and worship among children, Catechists and families
Recruit, train and support Catechists and volunteers; be responsible for evaluating quality Catechists and contribute to Faith Formation office’s Catechist formation goals
Lead parish youth ministries for Grades 3-4 (Sparks) and Grades 5-6 (Ignite), including pre- and post-event communication with parents and volunteers
Co-lead Sacrament Preparation and related events/retreats with SMG School Teachers for SMG School & PRE 2nd graders
Assist with Rite of Christian Initiation for Children and Older Sacrament preparation process
Co-lead Vacation Bible Camp with Coordinator of Youth Ministry
Five half-days (VBC), a teen weekend overnight retreat, Family Potluck, Morning Camp, and Friday Festivities
Select and organize VBC curriculum, and contribute to hiring and managing college missionaries, teen camp volunteers, and parent volunteers
Assist SMG School Teachers with Children Faith Formation-related ideas and endeavors
In-school day retreats
Contribute to SMG School Faith Formation Committee meetings (monthly)
Contribute to curricular implementation/ideas for SMG School teachers & students
Slideshow presentations & related content on particular or seasonal subjects
Craft newsletters with key information for PRE Catechists and families
Coordinate volunteers for Children’s Liturgy of the Word
Create an annual Children’s Faith Formation budget for review; monitor budget on regular basis
Call and welcome new parishioners with children aged 2 years-8th grade to discuss faith formation opportunities
Track PRE registration year-to-year; call families who did not register for a new year, encourage them to return or learn why they have decided not to return
Responsible for education and development of security protocols for Children's Faith Formation ministries and events
Education / Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in religious education, theology or related area or a combination of education and experience plus at least two years of related experience
Strong supervisory, administrative, organization leadership and program planning experience required. Parish and/or diocesan experience desired but not necessary.
Knowledge of Microsoft office products
Graphical design skills are desired
Practicing Catholic who respects and upholds Catholic Church teaching
Well-acquainted with Church documents, Scripture, and resources
Able to honor & maintain confidentiality
Able to pass and maintain diocesan child safety protocol

CUSTODIAN (FULL-TIME)
St. Maria Goretti is currently seeking a candidate to fill the position of Custodian. This hands-on position will work under the supervision of our Maintenance Supervisor to ensure the clean condition of the church and school facilities. Necessary training will be provided. This full-time position includes full benefits (medical, dental, vision, and 403(b) matching).

Essential Duties:
Clean and maintain all areas daily.
Daily cleaning tasks include but not limited to; vacuuming, washing windows, sweeping & mopping floors, cleaning bathrooms, emptying trash and picking up unattended items.
Perform janitorial duties on a monthly, quarterly, semi-annually or annual basis; such as steam cleaning the carpet, washing windows, and oiling the church pews, per established custodial schedule.
Be familiar with operation of all equipment necessary to perform assigned tasks.
Monitor and replenish the inventory of supplies for cleaning.
House cleaning of the Rectory.
Education / Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Valid Indiana Driver’s License.
Possess respect and ability to uphold Catholic School Teachings.
Able to honor and maintain confidentiality.
Able to pass and maintain Diocesan child safety protocols.
