  Welcome to St. Maria Goretti!
  
  You can find our Jubilee Year 2025 display and stamp for your passport in our church narthex (gathering space), near our Welcome Desk. We also have a passport stamp located in our Holy Spirit Chapel vestibule near our Perpetual Adoration check-in touchpad. You may enter the Holy Spirit Chapel through the easternmost side of our church (closest to Spring Mill Road).

Jubilee in the Diocese of Lafayette-in-Indiana
- Bishop Doherty has designated the following four Holy Sites in our Diocese:
  
  Cathedral of St Mary of the Immaculate Conception (Lafayette)
  St. Maria Goretti Parish (Westfield)
  St. Mary Catholic Church (Muncie)
  St. Joseph Parish (Star City)
  
  Although not a Holy Site, the following pastorates are participating in the diocesan passport and look forward to visitors:

  St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Center (West Lafayette)
  St. Joan of Arc/St. Patrick Pastorate (Kokomo)
  St. Bernard Catholic Church (Crawfordsville)

  Throughout 2025, a Jubilee Holy Year and the 2,025th anniversary of the Incarnation of our Lord, the Catholic Church celebrates a yearlong “event of great spiritual, ecclesial, and social significance in the life of the Church” (usccb.org). "Jubilee" originates in the Book of Leviticus (Chapter 25) as a special year of reconciliation, pilgrimage, and coming home. Catholics are encouraged to make pilgrimage during the year, either to Rome or to a sacred site within their local diocese.
- What is the Jubilee Year about?
  The Jubilee Year is a time to renew relationships with God, each other, and creation.
  It's a time for forgiveness and renewal.
  It's a time to look to the future with hope, trust, and far-sighted vision.
- What will happen during the Jubilee Year?
  Catholics are encouraged to pilgrimage to Rome or sacred sites in their local diocese.
  There will be special celebrations for various needs and communities.
  There will be missions, World Mission Sunday, and the Catholic Relief Services Rice Bowl.
- When does the Jubilee Year begin and end?
  The Jubilee Year officially opened on December 24, 2024, with the opening of the Holy Door of the Papal Basilica of St. Peter.
  The year will end in Rome on the Solemnity of the Epiphany of the Lord – January 6, 2026.

  Saturday, July 12, 4:30 PM - 10:00 PM
  
  St. Maria Goretti’s Italian Festival, celebrating the feast day of its holy patroness, begins with a 4:30 p.m. Lord’s Day Vigil Mass, followed by fun for everyone. Rain or shine, come experience a joy-filled evening of amazing food, games, prizes, inflatables, and fireworks!

  This month, as part of St. Maria Goretti’s “The Greater Understanding Project,” an ongoing series discovering the “what” and “why” of Church teaching, discover the messages and meanings of Marian apparitions during the course of multiple weeks in this month dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
